The Festival of Trees began as a small community event to raise funds for the restoration of Methuen’s historic Tenney Gate House. Our first Festival produced a profit of $2,100 and we couldn’t have been happier. Today, we’re proud to have invested over $1.7 million in historic preservation projects throughout the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire.
Over the years, we’ve learned a lot about raising money.
In 2014, we initiated a new Auction Partnership program built on our experience and the unique strengths of the Festival, to help local non-profit organizations and the Festival’s Preservation Partners to achieve their fundraising goals.
The program, which is designed to help both the Festival and our partners, builds on the proven success of the Festival’s annual online auction. The auction partner simply needs to solicit items for the auction – the Festival does all the rest! Whether the partner collects 10 items or 100, they’ll receive a check for 50% of the income.
Since the Festival utilizes a national online auction website, every auction item is marketed to our 30,000 visitors and is available to bidders nationally. The auction website allows bidders to follow the auction from beginning to end and to increase their bid(s) to a predetermined maximum amount.
If you’re interested in learning more about the Auction Partnership program, contact our Auction Chairperson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The last day to submit items for the 2016 Auction is Tuesday, November 8th.
